Throughout the day you'll work through realistic motorcycle accident scenarios, learning how to assess the scene, protect yourself and others, care for an injured rider and make calm, informed decisions under pressure.

The course combines internationally recognised first aid education with practical motorcycle-specific application.
Participants complete both theoretical and practical assessments before receiving a digital Certificate of Completion, valid for three years.
The programme is based on Emergency Care & Safety Institute (ECSi) accredited course content, delivered by Alive First Aid Academy as a designated ECSi Education Centre. The course is also verified by the South African Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (SAIOSH) and awards two Continuing Professional Development (CPD) points.

Not at all. This course has been designed for adventure motorcycle riders of all experience levels. Is this course only for experienced adventure motorcycle riders?

Why should I complete a motorcycle-specific first aid course instead of a general first aid course?

Yes. The course is presented by Alive First Aid Academy using Emergency Care & Safety Institute (ECSi) accredited course content. Where is the Adventure Motorcycle First Aid Training held?

How long is the course?
The course runs as a full-day programme, from 8:00 am until approximately 4:30 pm, combining classroom instruction with extensive practical training throughout the day.
Is lunch included?
Yes. Your course fee includes refreshments throughout the day as well as a light lunch, allowing you to focus entirely on developing your first aid skills.
How many people attend each course?
To ensure every participant receives individual attention and plenty of opportunity to practise their skills, class sizes are limited to 12 participants.
This small-group approach allows for more instructor interaction, personalised feedback and realistic practical scenarios.
Should I carry a motorcycle first aid kit?
Absolutely! Every adventure rider should carry a compact, well-stocked first aid kit whenever they ride. More importantly, you should know how to use it effectively.
This course explains the essential contents of an adventure motorcycle first aid kit and, more importantly, teaches you how and when to use each item confidently.
I mostly ride with friends. Is this course still worthwhile?
Definitely.
Many motorcycle accidents occur during informal weekend rides with friends rather than organised events. If someone in your group is injured, you'll likely be one of the first people on the scene.
Having the knowledge and confidence to respond appropriately while waiting for emergency medical assistance could make an enormous difference.
Will this course make me a qualified paramedic?
No.
The aim of this course isn't to turn you into a medical professional.
It's designed to equip adventure riders with the knowledge, confidence and practical skills to assess an emergency, provide appropriate first aid and care for an injured rider until professional medical assistance arrives.
