DAY 2

we took the route from Ceres to to Barrydale and had a wonderful dinner in Robertson with Lea at Bourbon Street and then drove trough the wine region towards Barrydale. It was a wonderful ride and we had a great party at the Saloon with Koedoe steaks and lots of refreshments. Needless to say that the guys was a bit under the weather the next morning!!

DAY3

We left Karoo Saloon to Barrydale and had our boots branded at Herman, the local blacksmith and then had a spectacular drive on the R62 to Ladysmith and on to the warm water to soak out bodies. Then we rode to the Ostrich farm to ride the chickens. What a great day!! We sleep in oudthoorn tonight and tomorrow we are going to the Cango cave and then towards Steytlerville.

Day 4

We left Oudtshoorn today and visited the Cango caves and then drove to Steytlerville, on the way we visited the waterfall and we had a swim in the water. Arriving at the Karoo hotel in the evening and had great fun with the locals. The drive was great and we did a lot of passes along the way.

Day 5

From Steytlerville we drove towards Addo and visited the Cheetas and Lions along the way, definitely a highlight is handling the cubs and a fully grown female Cheetah. Then we went to the Addo elephant park and did a game drive in the afternoon. We stayed in Port Elizabeth for the night.

Day 6

Today we have a full day driving to Port Alfred and visited 43 Air-school, from there we had to make up time not to be late for our game drive in addo. The game drive was a big highlight as we saw White Rino, Hippo, antilope and of course the Lions. We had dinner in the game park and then we went for a night drive in the park and was very fortunate to witness a kill, the lioness caught a worthog in front of us and it was very spectacular.

Day 7

Leaving Addo we drove on the old road towards knysna stopping at the Highest bungee in the world, nobody jumped though. We stayed in the wonderful town, Knysna for the night and the guys chartered a sailing boat to sail outside of the Knysna Heads for the afternoon.

Day 8

Spending some time in Knysna and the we will ride to Mosselbay where we will spend two days, but more later.

 Smiley
This trip is indeed becoming an unforgettable experience!
Apart from the main thing - touring South Africa on our Harleys - we have been seeing and experiencing so much that it will be difficult to know where to start or end. Wild life safari's are of course high on the list with (so far) the big Four (out of 5), ostrich rides, Cheetah farm, seeing a lion killing a wild boar just 30 yards away!!, Addo elephant national park, rhino's from close distance on foot!! (scary!) and today we will swim with sharks (this could be my last post).
Look at the pics on this site and don't forget to click on the link to the album where you will find more pics.
We will keep you posted on new developments and adventures.
